Minimum Blue Studios — News & Events
16 June 07 — Melissa & Tom performed again tonight at The Red Cup Coffee House in OKC — great time for all, and many thanks to the folks at the Red Cup for providing such a wonderful venue. Melissa's gathered quite a following in the local music scene, and they were out in force tonight, to be sure. Lots of Fun!
30 July 06 — "Emociones" opened in New York City tonight to a standing ovation from a terrific audience. Chris was able to fly in from OKC to attend the showing, and says that a great time was had by all. We want to congratulate Melissa for a job very well done!
27 July 06 — We're pleased to announce that Minimum Blue Studios has partnered with Melissa Lopez' production company, Moonsue Productions, to produce her next project (a feature-length dramatic film) shot, as with "Emociones", on location in New York City. Melissa is there currently for several weeks of preproduction. We'll bring the project back to OKC in late 2007 for postproduction, and hope to have the film ready for release early 2008. Stay tuned!
20 July 06 — We've finished our work on "Emociones", and the film has premiered in Oklahoma City at Harkins Theater (one of the largest theatre complexes in OKC), receiving a standing ovation and lots of positive press. We're very happy to have participated in this project, and our congratulations goes out to Melissa Lopez for a wonderful production. We look forward to the NYC premiere of the film on Sunday, July 30th.
16 July 06 — Melissa & Tom put on a special performance at Galileo's Bar & Grill in Oklahoma City tonight, with welcome guest Jules Ulthep (voice of the song "Suddenly" — a favorite from our score for Melissa's film "Emociones", and written by Minimum Blue partner C. MIles Cody — listen to it here). Just a great amount of fun for all, and we truly appreciate the great audience. Many thanks to everyone at Galileo's — check out their web site here — great food and drink in the heart of OKC's famous Paseo Art District.
June 2006 — On to another film! This time, we're doing the score and postproduction audio for Melissa Lopez's 60-minute dramatic film "Emociones". Shot on location in New York City, it tells the story of a young woman coming to the United States from Brazil, and follows her tribulations as she struggles to find meaning and happiness in the Big Apple. Beautifully filmed by Ms. Lopez, "Emociones" is scheduled to open in Oklahoma City in July 2006, then in New York in August 2006.
We've finished our short project for Dance Houston, and all involved are very pleased with the outcome. Portions of the project will be playing on local television in the southern Texas market.
Minimum Blue and Noiseless Studios are currently composing and recording the score on a short project for Dance Houston, the premeire dance venue for the Houston, Texas area.
Minimum Blue and Noiseless Studios have completed the score for another short film project, "Dukkha", and we're happy to say that the film received a standing ovation at it's first major showing. The film is projected to be expanded and lengthened over the summer, and is planned for the festival circuit in 2006.
We've finished the "Moonlight" project, and the film is now making the festivals rounds and both the film and our score are getting excellent reviews. Next showing is at the Deadcenter Film Festival in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, June 2005.
The tune "Minimally Blue" from our upcoming EP "Lies & Omissions" has made the music page at Beta Monkey, and is getting lots of play! Listen to the full track here, along with other samples from the project.
In association with Noiseless Studios, we're currently in production on the original score, sound effects and foley for the independent film "Moonlight", written/directed by Shaun Earley, scheduled for premiere early 2005. Details here.
